HAPPY MARCH EVERYBODY!!! MADICON IS ALMOST UPON US! AND WARM WEATHER TOO! LET'S GO FLY A KITE SHALL WE???

BTW we have a website: www.sffg.org/forum: Due to the bot issue, the webmaster will not turn on your account until you email him and say you want to register.

MAIL- Costco magazine??? About SPACE?!? and then...
FEAST- Feast is our annual camp out that takes place in the fall. Wrestling on a log, sword fighting with padded weapons, LARPing, partying during the evenings, poetry/riddles competitions, and, of course, A GIANT FEAST WITH A FEAST COURT! Awesome prizes for winners and courtiers! Last year we had 100 attendees. Paul and Twiggy are running an incredible LARP, and the surveys are already up on the webboard. Sign up quickly so they can form the plot and you can have your character ready!!!

MADICON- LAN room is being run by the club. If you can bring a computer or two or seven, please sign up and tell us how many computers we could bring. No MACS, even if a mac runs windows we can't use them. Probably, more importantly, since the LAN team isn't hanging out there, we need people doing hours. If you haven't signed up for hours, SIGN UP FOR THE LAN ROOM! Write specific availability, if you can. If you can be on an call basis that would be great. If we don't have enough people, you will be corralled. Contact Jesslyn if you have ANY questions, comments, concerns, information, etc. WE NEED 8 COMPUTERS FOR THE LAN ROOM!

Jeff: Pre Reg- Come up to see Jeff for a lower Pre-reg rate after the meeting! It will be too late to sign up by the end of the week, but if you can work it out to stop by Jeff's house to save $5 dollars you can, otherwise he's really busy during the week. You could also try to find Katie.

Once again, if you haven't signed up for your hours, YOU NEED TO DO SO. Dues Paying Members (we have a list) MUST work at least three hours. The guild does not condone making people running upstairs while reading... but we will find a way to make you work, or make you pay. There's a few main areas on which to staff:
- The vendor room (checking in with the vendors to see if they're comfortable, if they need to eat/use the restroom, and you watch their tables for them), you need to know how the art auction works!
- Con Suite: where all the food is. Due to the thing with Aramark you can ONLY HAVE FOOD IN THE CON SUITE SO MAKE SURE THIS HAPPENS! If there are spills, clean it up. They can take festival from us. If you want to watch a movie (PG 13 please) on Friday, you can show anything! Shows, tv, anime, etc.! on Saturday and Sunday the 501st will be there and showing their movies, so you get to hang with them YAY! Laura's for Minion
- Console Room: Guard the consoles and such, also check out the games (jac cards for games, etc) Back packs should be left at the desk. Giant Purses, bags, etc. Don't play video games while you're doing that. Ridiculous. It's your job to guard SFFG property. Jeslyn's your minion
- Katie's running the Game room! Game room has lots of puzzles, tabletop games, tournaments (battletech, 40K, etc.) and a weekend long Carcassonne video game!!! You can check out board games and such, like Munchkin or Chez Geek
- Reg Desk! everyone wants to staff here, but too bad. We can't hang around the reg desk, because it clogs people. Questions about the con are directed here, so you will be learning buku knowledge. You'll be the center of the con!
-Thursday set up! Chairs, art flats, we have festival from 4 pm to midnight that night, but it shouldn't take that long >.> <.<
- Sunday take down: taking down the stuff from the con while students are coming back from spring break. The con closes at 2 pm, so clean up is from 2-5 pm. As the con is winding down you will help vendors pack up and taking the rooms apart

IF YOU WANT TO RUN EVENTS YOU CAN STILL SIGN UP! RUNNING GAMES! DOING PANELS! YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED IN WHO WANTS TO LISTEN TO YOU COMPARE SPONGE BOB TO CTHULU!
Bring consoles people, seriously. It's only for a weekend and we will watch them. They have four televisions for us, and we can use the projector... we need games too! Make sure every cable, every controller, everything is labeled!

Card games, board games, everything from Clue to Vampire Prince of the City to King's Blood to Rummy, label them and we'll take them with gusto! Puzzles too!

Madicon Updates: Wildlife Foundation said they were going to come at five! They will do their wildlife show as well! They are our charity. If you wanna see really cute little owls come Friday at Five!

We are also getting Adamfest! A rock band Cassie knows that's in the area! They have songs we can dance to! and slow songs for good romantic dancing!

Geek Auction will be on Friday night! If you want to sign up for that, it will be organized at the Convention. For those of you who haven't been there, Friday night is the Geek Auction and then the Masquerade!!! Geeks will sell hang out time to the highest bidder!

Graham: About Madicon- idea! maybe... he wants to run a game with player characters from the cam larp as NPCs. Your character may get to die, but it doesn't matter to your game, and they may get to kill people, but that won't matter either. It's a tabletop game with your characters stolen yay!

We still have space for a few vendor tables so people can still sign up if you have friends who want to spend 35 dollars to sell things.

GAME PLUGS-
Keith: There's a charity dodgeball tournament to raise money for child pneumonia, 8 males, 7 females, Sunday the 21st of March, 20 bucks for fifteen people to play dodgeball! IT SHOULD BE AWESOME! Keith's in charge of dodge ball. and team tshirts
OTHER-
Alex: Can have any nintendo game across the entire spectrum on his Wii (with the exception of a few N64 games). It's awesome. If there is something that you absolutely want to play at Madicon, there will be a thread on the webboard for it.

Graham: trying to do a blood drive sponsored by Emeril! For your donation back in December, you could have gotten an oven mitt that would have allowed you to kick it up a notch!

Brittany: A slightly madicon related other. If any of you are in a class that slightly relates to Madicon, tell your class and teacher about it! I mean, come one, more guests means more money! Her teacher is giving extra credit to go to Madicon Panel!

Emily needs a ride back to MADICON from NoVa. She'll be posting a thread about it.

A discussion of SheVacon and several pictures! it was super super awesome!!!

Just a quick reminder. If you're a student who lives on campus, the dorms are closed but do not worry! There are tons of people who live off campus who can offer you space and will because they're good people and they love you!

Danita: Taking over T-shirts so they'll actually get done! She's going to talk to Keith!

Eric and Richie: Starcraft 2 Beta! We want to know who wants to play! see Eric or Richie for more details!
“Confront the dark parts of yourself, and work to banish them with illumination and forgiveness. Your willingness to wrestle with your demons will cause your angels to sing. Use the pain as fuel, as a reminder of your strength.”

Yay minutes!

Graham -and Cammies- I think this is an awesome offer! Think of it like getting to know your character more :) It's a chance to play around and do something without having it follow you back into the Cam game!

Not quite what I meant. They won't be playing their characters, I was merely asking permission to use their characters because I've got a game idea that's inspired by the LARP from last Saturday and it's very likely the PCs in my game will meet some of the characters from the LARP.

Sorry about the confusion, I guess I didn't explain it very well. Let me give a few more details; see if that clears things up.

System: Mage: the Awakening (because it rules)

Premise:
The Guardians of the Veil have recently been informed of an exsanguinated corpse found in Staunton. It's probably nothing, but they are sending a recon team to determine cause of death and if this warrants further action from the Awakened community. (Human sacrifices are frowned upon, you know.)

Hope this helped.

I think everyone who was there and heard you say "As NPCs" got it.

Since one person was confused, there was a decent chance others were confused. I wanted to fix that.

Auction/Masquerade Question: The website says Saturday night so I signed up for the Friday night LARP. Now the webboard says Friday. I want to do both! Please clarify.

I hope I don't lead you wrong, but as I understand it, the geek auction/dance is Friday night.

On the subject of pre-reg, Lucy and I sent a pre-reg check back in February. It's not cleared yet. What's up?
