First off, we need a thread for the LAN room because we need to know who's bringing what. If you have computer(s) and/or game(s) you'd be willing to bring, please make a post here so I can start making a list of what we'll have.
Secondly, we might not have our LAN room team this year. It's not 100%, and I don't want to jump the gun, but it's kind of up in the air and considering how close we're getting to Madicon I'd rather prepare for the worst and have a back-up plan that we may not need than assume for the best and be scrambling to put together a LAN room at the last minute. Last year, a lot of the computers in the LAN room were brought by the LAN team. So please, if you have a computer or two that you'd be at all willing to contribute, this would be the year to do it.
But most importantly, we'll need help this year. By Monday we should definitely know for sure what our LAN room situation is and we'll have a sign-up sheet if needed. We'll need people to help set up and get everything going, and we'll need people to babysit the room all weekend (if I'm missing any key job descriptions here, let me know). Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, whether you can hang out for 30 minutes or be on-call for us to pop in all day. I don't need any definite availabilities from anyone quite yet, but if you want to give us a "hey, I'd help you guys out for a bit!
At any rate, none of this is written in stone and I'll discuss it further at the Monday meeting if not beforehand here on the forums. Just give it some thought, guys!
*************************UPDATE******************************
It looks like it is a certainty that our LAN team won't be able to make it this year. We're still debating on how to handle the situation, but for right now our #1 priority is getting computers. If we can't get -at least- eight computers, we may have to reconsider the LAN room entirely. We'll bring it up at the meeting but please let us know ASAP if you're willing to bring a computer, or if you know someone who's coming to Madicon and willing to bring theirs. Thanks, guys!

UPDATE AGAIN (3.03)
_________________________________________________________________________________________________
In list format! And colored to attract your attention!!
1) So, as of right now we have exactly 8 computers, assuming they all have high enough specs and will play nice with everybody. This is much better than having not-8-computers, but I know I'd feel better if we had some people willing to step in with their PC if something goes awry. Any takers?
2) WE ALSO NEED:
* Ethernet cables
* Power strips
If you have any to bring, please do so!! It would also be nice to let us know that you can bring them and how many you can bring. :] Bring bring bring.
3) If you are bringing ANYTHING that goes in the LAN room (computers, cables, games, anything), BRING IT ON THURSDAY. That's when we're setting up the LAN room. Madicon set up hours start at 4, Erik will be there at 4, I'll be there at 4. Although set-up will run for at least several hours I think it's quite safe to say that the earlier we have your stuff, the better.
4) We are assuming that these people are still willing to volunteer their PCs:
- Keith
- Sam
- Erik
- Jeff
- John
- Brittany (if everything works out)
- Erik's two non-SFFG friends
If your name's on that list and you can't bring your computer, for the love of everything you hold holy TELL ME NOW. :]
5) Any questions/comments/concerns can be directed to me via PM on the forum, facebook, email (jeslynstiles at gmail dot com) or call/text (five 4 oh- 4 one 4- five 8 five 4).
Thanks, guys!
